On Sat, June 29, 2019, the Boricua Festival – Salsa at the Waterfront will be held in Brooklyn, New York on Pier 4, at 58th Street and 1st Avenue. The Boricua Festival Committee is honored to recognize the late Dr. Antonia Pantoja, founder of Boricua College and ASPIRA.
Dr. Pantoja, was a Puerto Rican civil rights leader and an and educator; who was concerned with the high dropout rate of Puerto Rican youth in New York City during the ‘50s and ‘60s.
In her honor, the Boricua Festival Committee is pleased to recognize students of Puerto Rican decent/heritage for their volunteer commitment and achievements. And whose leadership and community service has made a significant impact on their community.
